Civil War brush: Dug from the Nashville Union Army pit 1862-1865

$100.00     Shipping Cost: $9.95*

Wood hand brush from the US Army dumpsite in downtown Nashville, TN. During the mid 1990's, construction began downtown Nashville which happened to be on a huge Union trash pit that yielded thousands of civil war era relics. Hundreds of leather goods (brogans, boots, belts, cartridge boxes etc) buttons, bullets, bayonets, knives, cloth (half of a Confederate field jacket with KMI buttons), lead items, canteens and a number of wooden relics. This brush is one of the wooden items I recovered. Finding wood items from the war, especially dug relics is very, very rare. This is one of a kind as I did not recover any other brushes.
May be an image of food and text that says 'Civil war era brush from large dump in Nashville. TN. number of preserved wood, leather and was salvaged from this large trash pit including hundreds farmy brogans (shoes), boots, cartridge boxes, leather accoutrements horse blankets, buttons, plates, kniv es, bottles and the grand prize: half f3 onfederate jacket with KMI buttons still attached (Kentucky Military Institute) 8 inch wooden brush handle that still has bristle remnants attached. Original dug condition.'
