Civil War Bullets 3 ring 52-55-57 caliber CS camp

$5.00     Shipping Cost: $12.95*

Year's ago, I stumbled into a virgin Confederate cavalry camp here in Tennessee. It would take a bit of research to discover the camp was part of Colonel James D. Bennett Regiment: (The 9th Tennessee Cavalry was organized on September 1, 1862 by Colonel James D. Bennett and Lt. Colonel William W. Ward. It was comprised of boys who knew that the Conscript Act would force them into service at age eighteen and men who had already served their one year enlistments or had been discharged for other various reasons. Colonel Bennett had previously served in the 22nd Tennessee Cavalry; Colonel Ward had served in the 7th Tennessee Infantry.) This camp yielded a wide variety of bullets, one piece "penny" buttons, several US plates (box & buckle), half of a CS egg (never found the S portion), a rare Eagle V button (Voltigeurs: pre-war Skirmishers/foot Infantry), several standard US Eagle buttons and a Confederate North Carolina button. The day I found this camp, I only dug 2 .69 caliber Prussian bullets but the next day I took a friend and we dug 237 bullets between us! We dug until dark and left a lot more to find the following days/weeks. I'm about to sell all of them piecemeal (by type and caliber), so watch for more listings here and on other Civil War relic sales pages. Shipping is via USPS Priority Mail which is insured to $100 and much, much safer than 1st Class. I do combine items so if you buy two or fifty, they will ship for one price. I accept CC's, Venmo, Paypal or cash for local pick up. Thanks for checking out my relics.
Lot #3: Seventeen assorted "3 ring Minie's" These vary in caliber and weight. No two the exact same. These could be from arsenals in the South or captured but this is in 1862 so some of this ammo could have been captured or in stores before the war began. All of these projectiles were in a plastic tub and during the great flood of 2010, they were under water for 10 days and it was months before I discovered them in what was left of my relics. Many things were thrown away by volunteer workers who came to help after the flood but many had no idea what a bag, container or box contained, it just got tossed. Thus, the original white lead patina is now similar to bullets recovered from the water. Just an FYI. Caliber can vary from .52, .54 and .57 and priced at $25 for lots of five bullets + postage. Most forms of payment accepted or cash for local pick up.
