"Co. AYTCH": A Side Show of the Big Show

By Sam R. Watkins, Private,
1st Tennessee Regiment, "Maury Grays" Company H, C. S.
A.
Anecdotes and incidents of battles in which the Army of Tennessee
and the Army of the Cumberland fought against each other. We
respectfully commend this book as being the best and most personal
history of any army ever written. Sam was from Columbia, Tennessee
(south of Nashville) and volunteered in the Southern Army at the onset
of the war.
Outstanding first hand accounts of the day to day
dangers, heroics and horror of war. Sometimes he makes you feel the
"whirring and buzzing of the bullets" in the heat of
battle. Lots of great insight and details of where the Army of
Tennessee fought, died and camped.
One of the best diary/books I've
ever read on the Infantryman during the Civil War.
