When you first pick it up you will be impressed with the overall construction. From its waterproof coil to its weather proof housing it is clearly a machine that can take hard use in the relic fields.
Hunting in wooded areas often leaves the cable covering metal detectors, full of cuts and slices, the new X-5 now has a heavy duty cable covering that solves that problem.
While the X-5 can be a "turn on an go" machine, it is also equipped with a threshold control and a precision 10 turn ground balance control to give you the extra depth every relic hunter wants. This machine has SERIOUS depth! And hunting in all metal and switching to disc couldn't be simpler, just flip a switch to check the target.
The earphone jack has a captive plug to keep out dirt and moisture and is also equipped with "O" rings that firmly seat the headphone jack when earphones are used, keeping out any moisture.
Ever lost your battery doors? Well, the X-5 has a positive locking, totally weather proof battery door. And, the more pressure on the door from the inside, the tighter the battery door is held in place.
